From Heat Layers to Interface Stories
A short method for turning heatmap evidence into narratives design and product can brief.
Raw heat overlays rarely change a layout. An interface story does: who visited which screen, over which window, where attention gathered, and what you should try next.
Write each story so a new teammate can retell it. Name the screens, exclusions (staff, bots), and the decision the story supports. Note when scroll depth or rage-clicks change the reading.
Once the story is stable, attach one experiment it is meant to inform. That pairing is what makes engagement heatmapping useful instead of ornamental.
